Excel Supplemented 75 Gallon Setup....

First of all have to say thank you to all of you for the abundant amount of info that can be found within this great forum….

I know this is going to be a long post so I thank those of you who take the time to read through it completely and provide any feedback.

My Tank Specifics:
• 75 Gallon
• 3x 54W HOT5 approx. 22 inches from the substrate. (Housed within an old white shop light reflector) Below is my light cycle.
• Fluval 406 Canister
• Hydor/Koralia Evolution 750 power head (runs 16:00-23:00 daily same timer as my longest light)
• Miracle Grow Organic Soil Substrate capped with 2 inches of 2-3mm grain sized gravel
• No idea what any levels are, don’t own a testing kit and would rather not deal with them
• Current Excel dosing 5ml every other day. Probably could be doing every day.
• Have never dosed dry ferts, but am looking to start
• I get what I think is BBA and some hair algae, on the drift wood, in the front top left of the tank, really no other algae issues. Water surface is covered in Duckweed except the front left where the water flow displaces it.

So after all my reading through the forum, I’m sure I have missed things, I think I have my potential dosing schedule dialed in. As we know this is the starting point for dosing for 60-80 gallons.

60-80 Gallon Aquariums
+/- 3/4 tsp. KN03 3x a week
+/- 3/16 tsp. KH2P04 3x a week
+/- 1 tsp. GH booster once a week (after water change)
+/- ¼ tsp. (15ml) Trace 3x a week
50% weekly water change

I figure I’ve got approx. 65 gallons of water in my tank maybe even less. So based on this I did a little math and reduced by 10%. Does this seem reasonable? So , based on my current set up I change 35% of my water weekly. More calculations based on that. Is it reasonable to reduce dosing quantities by the same percentage change as there is for the WC (approx -22%)?

Now I’m not looking for a tank that’s going to need hours of constant maintenance but am looking for a healthy looking tank. I’ve concluded that the below is what I should dose. Now, my wife commonly implies that I don’t think…… but it is totally possible that I may have over thought this process. Just want to be a precise as possible.

65 Gallons of water
+/- 1/2 tsp. KN03 3x a week
+/- 1/8 tsp. KH2P04 3x a week
+/- 11/16 tsp. GH booster once a week (after water change)
+/- 3/16 tsp. Trace 3x a week
35% weekly water change

Some additional questions:
Based on my specifics would you say I have a med, med/high, high light tank?
Based on the pic of my tank, what would you say is the planting density?
Am I missing any major parts for a successful planted tank, other than pressurized CO2?
